Santri Di Sukoharjo Dipalak Senior Against Death Beaten, KPAI Asks Police To Completely Investigate

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI) has asked the Sukoharjo Police to thoroughly investigate the case of violence that led to the death of santri initials AKP (13) at the Islamic boarding school (ponpes) in Sukoharjo, Central Java (Central Java).

"The police must thoroughly investigate this case of violence and ensure justice for the victim and his family," said Member of the KPAI Education Cluster, Luang Time, and Aris Culture Adi Leksono when contacted, Friday, September 20, as reported by Antara.

KPAI said the students who died were suspected of being the result of violence perpetrated by a senior with the initials MG (15).

KPAI also expressed deep sorrow to the families of the victims.

"KPAI regrets the repeated acts of violence against children in Islamic boarding schools which resulted in the loss of life. KPAI expresses deep sorrow to the families of the victims," said Aris.

KPAI has received this case report and coordinated with the families of the victims and the Ministry of Religion to obtain chronological information on events, handling efforts, and other steps needed to realize justice for victims, and the responsibility of the alleged perpetrators, as well as the possibility of other parties being involved.

According to Aris, the incident began on September 16, 2024 when the alleged perpetrator asked the victim for money by force. However, because the victim did not give, the alleged perpetrator hit the victim's stomach, chest, and ulu heart.

Then the victim became unconscious and finally breathed his last.

"Because it was not handled quickly, the victim finally died," he said.
