The Latest From The Fires At Pertamina Refinery In Indramayu, All Hotspots Have Extinguished

JAKARTA - PT Pertamina (Persero) stated that all hotspots at the Balongan Refinery, Indramayu, West Java have been successfully extinguished, which was carried out by Pertamina's emergency team.

"Thank God, thanks to teamwork and support from various parties, all hotspots have been extinguished", said Pertamina Senior Vice President Corporate Communications & Investor Relations Agus Suprijanto, Wednesday, March 31.

Agus said, previously, the emergency team had succeeded in extinguishing the fire at T-301H at 01.30 WIB in the morning, followed by T-301E at 06.44 WIB and the T-301G tank at 08.30 WIB.

To ensure blackout conditions in all affected tanks, PT Pertamina (Persero) continues to cool and supervise until all points are declared safe.

After it is declared that there is no potential for fire to reappear, then preparations for the start-up of refinery operations will begin.

"Thank you for the prayers and support of all parties and the community regarding the fire incident in the T-301 tank. Hopefully, the Balongan Refinery can operate again after a thorough inspection is carried out", said Agus.
