JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan inaugurated the revitalization of a number of houses in Kwitang, Central Jakarta, which were burned down some time ago. Anies revitalized this house so that residents who are affected can get new housing.
In laying the first stone, Anies hopes that the revitalization work of 27 houses in Kwitang can be completed according to the target, namely before this year's Eid Al-Fitr.
"It should be remembered that the development process must stick to on schedule, on budgeting, and on quality and is targeted to be completed before Eid. I thank those who work, I hope the process will be completed soon, God willing, everyone can feel the newness (new residence) when celebrating. Eid al-Fitr is here, "said Anies at the location, Wednesday, March 31.
According to Anies, the fire accident that befell residents can be used as a reflection of themselves to become a better person, because there is always wisdom behind calamities.
He said, the house design that was being refurbished would be better. The facilities in this area are more complete, and can become a more comfortable and healthier settlement before the disaster.
"When this place experienced a fire accident, at that time we witnessed families who lost their homes and belongings, but we all know that what is missing is goods, which God willing, will be able to get better compensation," said Anies.
When the revitalization is complete, Anies hopes that this place can become a pilot location for a village that lives activities based on the values that are believed to be well guarded in this area.
Previously, a number of houses caught fire on Jalan Kembang 5, Kwitang Village, Senen, Central Jakarta, on Saturday, March 13. The fire, allegedly due to an electrical short circuit, resulted in a loss of around Rp. 9 billion.
