Two Suspected Terrorists Arrested By Densus 88 Allegedly Preparing Terrorist Actions In East Java
SURABAYA - Head of Public Relations of the East Java Regional Police, Gatot Repli Handoko, said that two suspected terrorists who were arrested in Tulungagung and Nganjuk districts planned to carry out acts of terrorism in East Java.
"There are indications, they will carry out amaliyah in East Java", said Gatot in Surabaya, Wednesday, March 31.
However, Gatot did not explain the details of the two terrorist suspects' plans. Currently, the Densus 88 team together with the East Java Regional Police are still in the process of being developed in the field.
"Because we are still developing and deepening with Densus 88 Police Headquarters", he said.
According to Gatot, the two suspected terrorists were suspected of being connected to the suicide bombing at the Makassar Cathedral, Sunday, March 28. The two suspected terrorists are members of the radical Jamaah Ansharut Daulah (JAD) network.
"Yes, it has something to do with the incident in Makassar", he said.

However, the police have not been able to confirm whether the two suspected terrorists in East Java have a connection with the Makassar terrorist group network.
"It's still being explored because Densus 88 friends and East Java Police backups are still carrying out development activities in the field", said Gatot.
The Densus 88 team arrested two suspected terrorists in two areas in East Java, namely in Tulungagung and Nganjuk, on Tuesday, March 30. The two of them had the initials NMR as suspected terrorists in Buntaran Village, Rejotangan District, Tulungagung Regency, and LAM in Nganjuk Regency.
