Pramono-Rano Promise To Fix Ahok Heritage Kalijodo Park

JAKARTA - Jakarta Governor Pramono Rano's candidate and Deputy Governor Rano Karno's candidate will fix Kalijodo Park, which was built by Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok) during his tenure as Governor.

This was revealed by Pramono after talking with Ahok and Rano at Semanggi Park, Central Jakarta.

"We will fix the Kalijodo Park, including JIS from Pak Anies and so on," said Pramono, Thursday, September 19.

Before Ahok served as Governor of DKI for the 2014-2017 period, Kalijodo Park was an entertainment area that provided prostitution services to gambling practices. To eradicate negative activities there, Ahok transformed Kalijodo into a child-friendly integrated public space (RPTRA).

In the Ahok era, the Kalijodo RPTRA was built with various facilities such as futsal fields, jogging tracks, skate parks and playgrounds.

However, in recent years, Kalijodo has returned to the spotlight because it was neglected. In fact, according to Pramono, Kalijodo Park is Ahok's legacy that is beneficial for residents.

"I also said to Pak Ahok, 'Pak Ahok, Kalijodo is actually one of Pak Ahok's extraordinary relics. From haram jaddah to something useful for the people of Indonesia'," explained Pramono.

Therefore, Pramono promised to continue the construction and arrangement of the city of Jakarta which had not been completed in the previous leadership of the governor.

"We learned about the PR-PR left by the predecessor governors and Pak Ahok frankly leaving a lot of unfinished legacy, we will continue," continued Pramono.

Pramono's wish is also in line with the message given by Ahok. If the Jakarta governor-cawagub cagub pair will win the 2024 Pilkada, Ahok hopes that Pramono-Rano can continue the pattern of infrastructure development as he did.

"So I think this is what Mas Pram and Bang Rano will continue their cooperation with the private sector which can benefit all stakeholders," said Ahok.

One of the results of cooperation with the private sector that Ahok is referring to is the Semanggi Interchange. This area was built without using a penny APBD. Ahok built the Semanggi Interchange with the building floor coefficient obligation fund (KLB) of a Japanese company, Mori Building Company.

"I say this is not a CSR (corporate social responsibility). Many people think this is the construction of a CSR, no. This is an obligation of a Japanese company. This is a study from his team from Tarumanegara University. So the policy we make is to benefit all parties, "explained Ahok.
