YOGYAKARTA - Ora Islamic Boarding School Caretaker Aji Gus Miftah said President Joko Widodo asked the caretakers of Islamic boarding schools to participate in overseeing the smooth transition of Prabowo Subianto's government.
This was conveyed by Gus Miftah to the media crew after the meeting of young kiai throughout Java at Ora Aji Islamic Boarding School, Sleman, Yogyakarta Special Region, which was attended by President Jokowi.
"He said that we should be caretakers of Islamic boarding schools to maintain this continuity (government transition) well. His message is like that," Miftah said as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, September 19.
According to Miftah, the message was conveyed by President Jokowi after he expressed his assessment that the transition process for President Jokowi's administration to Prabowo Subianto was very collaborative and subtle.
During the meeting, as many as 50 young kiai throughout Java that took place were closed, said Miftah, President Jokowi admitted that he wanted to ensure that when President-elect Prabowo Subianto officially took office, everything was ready.
"In the beginning of our tenure, we had to 'graduately' (rave) first. Now we want what when Pak Prabowo worked, everything had been prepared properly," said Miftah, imitating Jokowi's words.
Miftah said there was no desire for President Jokowi to intervene in the upcoming new government policies, even though there were a number of new non-ministerial bodies that were prepared.
"So there is no intervention but it is a collaboration, as previously stated," he said.
After Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka were officially inaugurated as President and Vice President on October 20, 2024, continued Miftah, Jokowi admitted that he wanted to rest for a week or two in Solo, Central Java.
After that, Jokowi plans to tour the community.
"After October 20, I will sleep for a week, two weeks in Solo, after that I want to go around to meet the community. Regarding the government, Pak Prabowo-Gibran's business," Miftah said, imitating the President.
