Indonesian Claim Manufacturer Becomes A PInation Country For Fish Milk Production In The World

The discussion about fish milk emerged after the product was predicted to be an alternative cow's milk in the President-elect Prabowo Subianto's Free Nutrition Food program.

Apparently, fish milk has been produced in Indonesia since August 16, 2023 by PT. Gives Indonesian Bahari.

The company produces fish protein hydrolysat (HPI) which is then processed into powdered milk products.

CEO of PT Gives Indonesian Technology, Yogi Aribawa Krisna, revealed that basically HPI technology has been developing for a long time in the world, but only Indonesia has processed fish protein into powder milk on an industrial scale.

"We are the pioneers, yes, to be able to develop this into an industrial scale," he said at a press conference in Indramayu, West Java, Wednesday, September 18.

Yogi added that HPI products are not only from fish, but also from other raw materials, such as soybeans.

However, he considered that the technology had not yet developed in Indonesia.

Basically, said Yogi, the production of protein drinks from fish has indeed been widely circulated in the world, but for the terminology of fish milk itself, it is only available in the country.

"Then is the world's first fish milk? Maybe the terminology of fish milk is correct, yes, but for protein drinks from fish, it actually exists in the world. Yes, we talked about the terminology of the language," he said.

He explained that the production process of fish milk in his factory is the key through enzymes, aka breaking the protein chain into a shorter chain or peptide. Thus, it is referred to as hydrolicity.

"After that, he becomes liquid, he can actually be consumed immediately. But, we also run away in the form of a powder so that the finished products become the basic ingredients for making fish milk," he explained.
