Human Rights Foundation Gives Bitcoin Grants Worth IDR 9 Billion For 20 Global Projects

JAKARTA - The Human Rights Foundation (HRF) recently announced recipients of the latest grant from their Bitcoin Development Fund. This grant, with a total value of 10 BTC or about 590,000 US Dollars (approximately IDR 9 billion), is distributed to 20 projects worldwide. The projects aim to support education in countries under repressive rule, fund the development of Bitcoin, decentralize mining operations, and complement human rights groups with privacy-focused financial tools.

The HRF did not specify the amount of funds provided for each project, but they have identified several key projects that will receive the grant. Here are some projects that will get support from the HRF:

In addition to supporting technology and educational projects, HRF is also focused on privacy security for human rights activists. Some projects such as the privacy-focused Silentium Bitcoin and Jeff Gardner, which develops encrypted messages for activists, receive support to ensure that vulnerable groups can communicate safely and receive donations without risk.

Other projects, such as Yes Bitcoin Haiti, focus on empowering the public through Bitcoin education in Haiti, by discussing educational materials into Haitian Kreol. By providing grants worth IDR 9 billion to 20 global projects, the Human Rights Foundation demonstrates its commitment to supporting the development of Bitcoin technology that can help communities under repressive rule.
