The Proposal For The Release Of The Susi Air Pilot Sent By The KKB Leader Egianus Kogoya Is Still Being Studied By The Task Force

PAPUA - The Cartenz Peace Operations Task Force 2024 studied the contents of the proposal issued by the Free Papua Organization (OPM) led by Egianus Kogoya regarding the release of the Susi Air pilot who had been held hostage for more than a year.

Head of the Cartenz Peace Operations Public Relations Task Force 2024, Kombes Bayu Suseno said the proposal was published on Tuesday 17 September 2024 and appointed a facilitator for the mediation of the release of Philip Mark Mehrtens.

"Where according to OPM spokesman Sebby Sambon, this proposal is to respond to demands that have been voiced by various parties," he said in a press release received by Antara in Jayapura, Wednesday, September 18.

According to Suseno, his party feels it is important to study the proposal in order to ensure that this is truly a serious effort to free the pilot.

"Because previously OPM often made similar propaganda that was not realized," he said.

He explained that his party would coordinate with various parties after ensuring the validity of this proposal so that the release of the pilot can take place properly and safely.

"We also ask for support and prayers from the community so that this release plan runs smoothly without any further expansion from the OPM," he said again.

He added that his party hopes that the efforts to release pilots by the OPM can be carried out properly.
