Rizieq Protest On Exception Session Not Aired, Judge: We Communicate It To The Technical Team
JAKARTA - Habib Rizieq Shihab again protested to the panel of judges. This time, the former FPI frontman protested because the exception reading was not broadcast via streaming.
Rizieq Shihab's protest was launched during the trial with the agenda of listening to the public prosecutor's (JPU) response to the defendant's exception.
"My panel of judges is really very aggrieved. This is a discriminatory action from the East Jakarta District Court from the one in charge of the streaming sector. When the prosecutor read out the good accusations at my trial the files of the Petamburan crowd, the Megamendung crowd, both the UMMI Hospital were all broadcast so that the public all of Indonesia is aware of the prosecutors' charges, "said the prosecutor at the trial at the East Jakarta District Court, Wednesday, March 31.
That, said Rizieq, does not apply to him. "As soon as I made an exception with a legal lawyer, none of the streaming sections of the East Jakarta District Court were very detrimental to me, so the public didn't know what my defense was for my case," he continued.
For this reason, Rizieq asked the panel of judges for all matters related to the trial process to be broadcast. Thus, the context of the trial is open to the public and transparent.
In fact, Rizieq also said that he would ask his team of lawyers to report this matter to the DPR.
If it is not broadcast again, this is clearly discriminatory. Therefore, I ask legal advisors to process this politically to the DPR and legally to be sued because we have a discriminatory law, "he said.
Responding to Rizieq's protest, the presiding judge Khadwanto said he would coordinate the defendant's request. Later, regarding broadcasting will be communicated to the technical team.
"Regarding the proposal of lawyers and defendants at this trial, we will broadcast it live, we will later communicate it to the IT sector and we will also communicate the proposal of the defendant to the technical team and other panels," he said.
