PGN Develops Jargas In The Tourism Industry With ITDC
JAKARTA - Continuing the commitment to develop natural gas network infrastructure (Jargas) to various regions in Indonesia, PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGN) has penetrated the tourism industry segment. PGN made it happen through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding for Jargas Development Cooperation for Hotel and Restaurant Customers with Injourney Tourism Development Corporation Subsidiary, PT ITDC Nusantara Utilities (INU) in early September.
PGN, in this case represented by Hedi Hedianto as General Manager of Sales and Operation Region III PGN and INU represented by AA Ratna Dewi's wife as President Director. Also witnessed by the Commercial Director of PGN Ratih Esti Prihatini.
"This is the beginning to fulfill the jargas development target, both pipeline and beyond pipeline. Hopefully, this collaboration can be continued to a more real level. In addition, it can contribute better to PGN and INU as a form of SOE synergy, in this case between Pertamina Group and ITDC," said PGN Commercial Director Ratih Esti Prihatini.
The purpose of this agreement is to explore potential in planning, development, management and provision of natural gas in areas managed by INU to meet energy needs for users in the tourism sector, especially the hotel, restaurant or other related segments. INU-run areas include the Mandalika Special Economic Zone (KEK) in Central Lombok, NTB and Golo Mori Regencies in West Manggarai, NTT. These two regions are included in the scope of cooperation with PGN and have previously been launched by the Government to become centers of international tourism destinations and are targeted for improvement of their territory.
Other implementations can also be carried out in the form of joint optimization of assets owned or carrying out other business synergies that can provide benefits and benefit the parties.
Ratna Dewi's wife AA as President Director revealed that the Nusa Dua area was already constrained by gas networks including the installation. She really hopes that natural gas can be provided in other INU operating areas, so that she can repeat the success story in Nusa Dua. One of them is in the Mandalika area which is currently growing, there is potential that can be explored for the development of natural gas networks there.
PGN's cooperation with INU will begin with a feasibility study first. The SOR 3 area extends from Central Java, Kalimantan to Eastern Indonesia and there is already a team, so that day to day it can be better prepared to coordinate," added Hedi Hedianto as General PGN Manager Sales and Operation Region III.
