Keep The World Peace, Police Send FPU Task Force To Central Africa
JAKARTA - The National Police sent 140 personnel on a UN peacekeeping mission to Central Africa. They are members of the Garuda Bhayangkara contingent of the Formed Police Unit (FPU).
Deputy Chief of Police, Komjen Agus Andrianto, said that the hundreds of selected personnel were a form of honor and trust from the government and institutions to the contingent that had been prepared in such a way to carry out the duties and vision of world peace representing Indonesia.
"Make the momentum of this ceremony as a trigger for enthusiasm so that colleagues can carry out their duties optimally without neglecting safety and being able to make achievements in the international arena," Agus said in his mandate while leading the ceremony to release hundreds of personnel at the Bhayangkara field at the National Police Headquarters, Wednesday, September 18.
The participation of the National Police in the UN peacekeeping mission, said Agus, is an effort to realize one of the state's goals as it is in the fourth paragraph of the opening of the 1945 Constitution, namely to participate in implementing world order based on independence, eternal peace and social justice.
"The delivery of Polri troops as UN peacekeepers is also an active role and a tangible manifestation of Polri's support for government policies in the arena for diplomacy and international relations," said Agus.
Meanwhile, the Head of the National Police's Hubinter Division, Inspector General Krishna Murti, said that these 140 personnel were the 6th contingent sent by the National Police since 2019 on a UN mission in Central Africa.

It is known, the peace mission was coded as the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA).
"The mission of maintaining UN peace is not new to the National Police, because the National Police has contributed since 1989, and until now the National Police has assigned 3,374 peacekeeping personnel both as Formed Police Unit (FPU) and Individual Police Officer (IPO) troops," Krishna said.
The National Police is committed to continuing to improve their role in maintaining peace in the UN Peace Maintenance mission and trying to maintain and improve the title as Top Ten of Police Contributing Country.
Krishna also said that the release ceremony was held after all personnel of the FPU 6 MINUSCA task force completed a series of processes ranging from selection, recruitment, debriefing, training to assessments carried out directly by teams from the United Nations which took place from February 2024 to August 31, 2024.
"The 6 MINUSCA FPU Task Force will carry out a rotation to replace the MINUSCA FPU 5 Task Force, which in the near future will complete an even one-year term in the mission area," Krishna said.
