Indonesian Masters 2024 Rolls Again In Jakarta, Total Prize Reaches IDR 30 Billion

JAKARTA - An international standard golf tournament, the 2024 Indonesian Masters, is back in Jakarta. This year's edition is the 12th series which has a total prize of 2 million US dollars or equivalent to Rp. 30 billion.

The tournament will be held at the Jakarta Golf Club Royale on 31 October-3 November 2024. The 2024 Indonesian Masters will remain part of the International Series where the total prizes have increased by 500,000 US dollars from the previous year's tournament.

With a total increase in prizes of IDR 30 billion, the Indonesian Masters 2024 not only listed itself as the biggest professional golf tournament in Indonesia, but also the golf event which has the highest total prizes in the history of professional golf tournaments ever held in Indonesia.

Re-appointed as a venue for a prestigious international tournament, President Director of Royale Jakarta Golf Club, Hendro Sutandi, said this was a matter of pride that had always been awaited.

"Since the debut of the Indonesian Masters in 2011, the Royale Jakarta Golf Club has always been a trusted venue. It is an honor for us to be part of history and remain a valuable partner of the Indonesian Masters," said Hendro Sutandi.

Meanwhile, Asian Tour Commissioner & CEO Cho Minn Thant said the Indonesian Masters had been a consistent, popular tournament and had been around for more than a decade.

"We are very pleased to see the developments that occurred at this year's event. We are grateful to the BNI, International Series, and Royale Jakarta Golf Club for their strong commitment to making this event a great success. At the same time, ensuring this event plays an important role in helping to contribute at the end of this season," said Thant.

Last year, Gagan Economy Bhullar from India won the Indonesia Masters trophy. Meanwhile, the 2024 tournament will be enlivened by 144 participants. A total of 12 slots of which are provided for the host's golfer who will still have to go through the selection process.

The Indonesian Masters tournament was held for the first time in 2011 and won for three consecutive years by British golfer Lee Westwood.

Meanwhile, Janewattanand's Jazz from Thailand won the Asian Tour Order of Merit when this tournament was last held in 2019.
