Kadin Should Be Shoulder-Change Out Of The Economy Crisis, Not Seize Leadership

JAKARTA - Executive Director of the Institute for Development of Economics and Finance (Indef) Esther Sri Astuti views that the polemic that occurred in the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) organization is very unfortunate, where entrepreneurs should unite in the midst of economic conditions that have weakened people's purchasing power.

"Indeed, one voice should be because the current economic condition is experiencing weaker purchasing power," he told VOI, Tuesday, September 17.

Therefore, Esther said that the employers' association should be able to work hand in hand to get out of the crisis.

However, Ester saw the polemic that was happening in Kadin's body at this time, namely that there were those who received facilities and could not get facilities, causing pros and cons.

"The government's policy must be the same, all entrepreneurs have the same opportunity," he explained.

In addition, Esther conveyed that the polemic that occurred in the Kadin organization was not a dualism but a takeover of the position of chairman of Kadin.

"I see that it is not the dualism of leadership but the takeover of the position of chairman of Kadin, meaning that the new chairman will be sworn in to replace the old chairman of Kadin. Like the ketum Golkar who resigned, he was replaced by a new chairman," he said.

For information, the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry was hit by dualism after the 2024 Kadin Extraordinary National Conference (Munaslub) which appointed Anindya Bakrie as General Chair which was held in St Regis, on Saturday, September 14, 2024.

Previously, Arsjad Rasjid was elected by acclamation as Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry for the 2021-2026 term of service based on a joint decision at the VIII National Conference of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry on June 30, 2021, in Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi.
