Houthis Claim To Reject United States-UK Offers To Stop Attacks On Israel

JAKARTA - A spokesman for the Houthi group or Ansarullah said the Yemen-based resistance movement had rejected an offer from the Western Allies regarding Israel.

The offer came from the United States and Israel proposing a halt to the attack on Israel in exchange for recognition of the Sana'a Government.

According to a Palestinian Shehab news agency report on Tuesday, Mohammed al-Bukhati explained, through intermediaries, the US and UK said they would recognize the Sana'a government if Ansarullah agreed to stop the attack on the Israeli regime, as reported by IRNA on September 17.

However, al-Bukhati claims the group has rejected Washington and London's contributions.

It is known that the Yemeni Armed Forces have targeted several Israeli ships in recent months, especially ships carrying goods to occupied ports through the Red Sea, Indian Ocean, and the Bab al-Mandab Strait, as a form of solidarity with the people of the Gaza Strip.

Most recently, the Houthis claimed to have fired hypersonic missiles into central Israeli territory for the first time on Sunday, prompting Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to warn he would give a firm response.

Meanwhile, the US and Britain themselves have repeatedly launched attacks on Yemen's positions under the pretext of protecting international shipments.
