Cooperating With Central Jakarta Immigration, Police Chase Perpetrators Of Employee Torture At Brandoville Studio Menteng

The Central Jakarta Metro Police Satreskrim has difficulty investigating an employee torture case at Brandoville Studio, Menteng, Central Jakarta.

Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Central Jakarta Metro Police, AKBP Muhammad Firdaus, revealed that when he visited the location, the Brandoville Studio office, which has around 230 employees, was already empty.

"The results of checking the Brandoville Studio office were found empty and the gate was locked. So officers had difficulty entering the office," said AKBP Firdaus to reporters, Tuesday, September 17.

AKBP Firdaus said the company, which is engaged in making animations and games, had been closed since July 2024.

"The results of the interrogation of the witnesses explained that the Brandoville Studios office has been closed since July 2024," he said.

AKBP Firdaus explained that his party had examined the victim with the initials CS and another witness who was a former employee of Brandoville Studios.

Victim CS claimed to have been abused by his boss with the initials KCL who is a foreign national (WNA) from Hong Kong since 2022.

The violence was in the form of squeezing, verbal violence, not paying overtime wages, so that they were not given the right to leave religious holidays.

"Based on information from the victim CS, there were cases of violence experienced by the victim CS from 2022 to August 2024," he said.

Kasat said there were two police reports related to the torture case carried out by the boss of the company Brandoville Studios. He is also still investigating the existence of other victims in the case.

To hunt down the alleged perpetrator, the Central Jakarta Metro Police cooperated with the Central Jakarta Immigration Office. Because what is feared is that the alleged perpetrator will return to his home country.

"Later we will coordinate with the immigration authorities," he said.

Until now, the case of alleged employee torture at Brandoville Studios is still being investigated by the police.

"The status of this case is still under investigation," he said.
