Haedar Nashir Regarding Mining Governance: Don't Underestimate, Muhammadiyah Can Build Schools To Hotels
Chairman of PP Muhammadiyah Haedar Nashir emphasized that the organization he leads will act professionally regarding the mining concessions provided by the government.
"Don't underestimate, we Muhammadiyah can also build schools, higher education institutions, hospitals, and businesses, we can make hotels, God willing, we can also run large-scale programs, of course with high rationality, professionalism," said Haedar after meeting President Joko Widodo at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, September 17.
Haedar said that the development and development of educational institutions, health and business entities had been carried out by Muhammadiyah independently, and were all aimed at community welfare.
Muhammadiyah also has great attention to environmental issues, where in the last 2023 Anniversary, Muhammadiyah raised the issue of climate change.
"In fact, we have a Muhammadiyah Climate Center, the only mass organization that has an institution to anticipate climate change with all the devastating environmental impacts," he explained.
He emphasized that Muhammadiyah in managing mines will also refer to the welfare of the community and maintain and care for the environment.

He stressed that mining management will be carried out professionally, through subsidiaries that have good governance, and also carried out by responsible experts.
"In fact, we have 5 universities that have mining programs and 12 mining schools. And the President's message is to support what Muhammadiyah is committed to developing human resources in the future with character but can also master science because Indonesia needs that," said Haedar.
