Departure Of 14 Non-Procedural CPMIs To Cambodia Thwarted By Police, 2 People Become Suspects
TANGERANG - Soekarno Hatta Airport Police (Soetta) managed to thwart dozens of non-procedural Indonesian migrant workers (CPMI) who were about to work in Cambodia. There were 14 non-procedural CPMIs who were arrested.
Head of Criminal Investigation Unit for Soetta Airport Police, Kompol Reza Fahlevi, said that apart from the 14 CPMIs that were secured, his party also arrested two men who dispatched this CPMI. The two men had the initials MZ and PJ.
The victims and the two people who dispatched were caught in the "Non-procedural CPMI Departure Prevention Operation," Reza said in his statement, Monday, September 16.
Reza added that the dozens of non-procedural CPMIs, which were dominated by men, were secured by his party in different periods of time and location.
Reza detailed that on Wednesday (11/9) his party managed to secure eight non-procedural CPMIs at Terminal 2 of Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Banten. Then, on Friday (13/9), his party secured one non-procedural CPMI, and two men with the initials MZ and PJ who dispatched the victims at Terminal 2 of Soetta Airport.
Furthermore, on Saturday (14/9) the officers managed to secure two non-procedural CPMIs at Terminal 2 of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.
Next, on Saturday (14/9) night, officers secured three non-procedural CPMIs at Terminal 3 of Soekarno-Hatta Airport.

Based on the results of the examination, dozens of these non-procedural CPMIs claimed to be offered jobs in Cambodia as company employees, restaurant waitresses.

"On average they get offers to work abroad non-procedurally from the Telegram social media application by someone who is under investigation," explained Reza.
Meanwhile, 2 people suspected of wanting to dispatch dozens of non-procedural CPMIs have been named suspects on suspicion of committing the Crime of Trafficking in Persons (TPPO).
MZ and PJ were charged with Article 83 in conjunction with Article 68 and or Article 81 in conjunction with Article 69 of Law No. 18 of 2017 concerning the Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers.
"And or Article 4 of Law No. 21 of 2007 concerning the Eradication of the Crime of Trafficking in Persons (TPPO), with a penalty of 10 years in prison and a fine of Rp. 15 billion," he concluded.
