Police Standby When IKN Opens To The Public
JAKARTA - The Penajam Paser Utara Resort Police (Polres), East Kalimantan Province, instructed the Sepaku Sector Police (Polsek) to alert personnel to maintain security and smooth traffic as public visits to the capital city of Nusantara, the capital city of Indonesia's new country.
"We instruct the Sepaku Police to alert personnel in the field, whose working area is closest to the IKN area," explained North Penajam Paser Police Chief Adjunct Senior Commissioner of Police (AKBP) Supriyanto, ANTARA, Monday, September 16.
Especially to maintain the safety and smooth running of traffic along the axis road in Sepaku District, he continued, to anticipate traffic congestion with the presence of people visiting the city of Nusantara.
"If personnel from the North Penajam Paser Police Traffic Unit (Satlantas) are needed, they will also be deployed to assist the Sepaku Police," added Supriyanto.
The Nusantara Capital Authority (OIKN) opens a public visit for the public to the new capital city of Indonesia, which is located in Sepaku District, North Penajam Paser Regency, starting Monday (16/9).
The general public may visit the future capital city of Indonesia every day from 09.00-17.00 WITA, with the guidelines that have been set and register first through the IKNOW application.

The general public who will visit the city of Nusantara is limited to 300 people per day.
The Sepaku Police have alerted personnel at a number of posts, said the Head of the Sepaku Police, Inspector of Police One (IPTU) Syarifuddin, if there is a traffic jam and others are immediately handled by personnel around the location.
"The personnel have been alerted at the post, we have a traffic unit that can be handled immediately to unravel congestion if there is traffic congestion," he said.
The traffic congestion that usually occurs in Sepaku District, namely in the Pasar Rebo area, Sukaraja Village, especially on market days, is because many people come to shop and park their vehicles on the side of the road.
Congestion in the Pasar Rebo area often occurs because the roads along the narrow market area, but vehicles can still run no traffic jams in total, said Syarifuddin.
