Arsjad Rasjid Reveals Not Acknowledging The 2024 Kadin Munaslub Efforts
JAKARTA - The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) was hit by dualism after the 2024 Kadin Extraordinary National Conference (Munaslub).
Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Arsjad Rasjid opened his voice regarding the 2024 Kadin Munaslub who appointed Anindya Bakrie as his successor. He emphasized that the 2024 Kadin Munaslub activity which was held at St Regis, on Saturday, September 14, 2024, was illegal and his party did not admit any attempt to take over the Kadin management by violating the applicable rules.
Arsjad explained that this action strongly violated the applicable Articles of Association and Bylaws (AD/ART) regulations and contradicted the legal basis governing the existence of Kadin as the only legitimate business organization in Indonesia.
"According to existing regulations, we did not acknowledge the occurrence of the Munaslub last Saturday," said Arsjad at a press conference at JS Luwansa, Sunday, September 15.
Arsjad added that the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry is home to business actors as regulated by Law Number 1 of 1987 and strengthened by Presidential Decree Number 18 of 2020.
"There is only one legitimate business organization in Indonesia, and Kadin Indonesia is an organization that was born from the law, emphasized by Presidential Decree 18/2020 and has a strong legal basis through AD/ART. We regret that there are activities that violate the Law and Presidential Decree," he said.

In addition, Arsjad expressed his disappointment with the parties involved in the effort because the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry has a strong legal basis.
"We deeply regret this unlawful act. The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry has a strong legal basis, both from the Law and Presidential Decree, so that this effort is clearly not justified," he said.
Arsjad added that the majority of representatives of the Provincial Chamber of Commerce and Industry, where currently 21 are present from 35 provinces, and the majority firmly reject the results of the 2024 National Conference because they do not meet the legal requirements according to applicable law.
"Kadin must work solidly to achieve economic growth of 5 percent in the next 5 years, we need all parties to collaborate. We emphasize that the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry does not belong to individuals, Kadin belongs to the nation, belongs to entrepreneurs throughout Indonesia, MSMEs, industry to workers and professionals," he said.
Meanwhile, the rejection was based on the consideration that the Munaslub was held without following the provisions in the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry's Articles of Association and Bylaws (AD/ART).
To note, 21 Provincial Chamber of Commerce and Industry Management Councils rejected, among others, Bengkulu Province, DI Yogyakarta, DKI Jakarta, Gorontalo, Jambi, West Java, Central Java, East Java, West Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, Maluku, North Maluku, NTT, Papua, West Papua, Riau, Central Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, North Sulawesi, and Southwest Papua.
