Ministry Of Health Focuses On Improvement Of Medical Faculty Education To Prevent Bullying
JAKARTA - Director General of Health Services at the Ministry of Health, Azhar Jaya, said that it is better to focus on prevention and improvement steps, both in terms of education systems at the Faculty of Health and the work system in vertical hospitals.
Azhar said this was related to the investigation process of the suicide case, dr. Aulia Risma, a participant in the Specialist Doctors Education Program (PPDS) is anesthetized, due to bullying.
"For this anesthesi case, let the police decide. But we respect FK Undip's attitude as an effort to improve the system," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, September 14.
However, he said, real steps in the field must be implemented, not just theory. He gave an example, seniors in other study programs in their reports to be investigated and given additional coaching sentences during the study period, should not be stationary in the hospital.
"Real improvement measures are made such as unnecessary removal of fees, clear working hours settings, strict control of WA groups, and others," he continued.
Regarding the revocation and permission to practice again, he said, this could be done immediately if the Ministry of Health saw any concrete steps from FK Undip regarding these requests.
"Hopefully this can deter others and it won't happen again," he said.
In a separate statement, Plt. The Head of the Communication and Public Service Bureau of the Ministry of Health stated that his party will always coordinate with the police to carry out investigations.
"We also coordinate with the police to see evidence of bullying," he said.
So far, said Nadia, some of the evidence found is other expenses outside of official education costs, such as buying food, laundry costs, and shoe washing costs.
