Alexander Marwata Affirms KPK Leaders In The Future Must Be Brave To Be An Opposition
Deputy Chairperson of the KPK Alexander Marwata said the anti-corruption commission was included in the executive family in accordance with KPK Law Number 19 of 2019. However, this institution does not mean that under the president, so the leader must have the courage to become an opposition if there is a program that does not support the eradication of corruption.
"The president cannot stop or replace the KPK leadership. So it should be, the KPK leadership is ready to become the government's opposition when these policies are not pro-corruption eradication," Alexander told reporters in the Bogor area, West Java, Thursday, September 12.
"We have to remind, reprimand, you know," he continued.
Alexander said that future leaders must also have the guts as stated by the Chairman of the KPK, Nawawi Pomolango, who is often conveyed. In this way, independence can be maintained in the future.
"This is what I think, yes, that was, the position leading the KPK was actually, legally it is very independent, very independent," he said.
In addition, the head of the anti-corruption commission in the future also does not need to hear the voices of donations from other institutions. "The condition is, yes, that was (as stated, red) Pak Nawawi, yes, he must have the courage to maintain, have the guts to maintain the independence of the KPK," said Alexander.
