After Four Years, Sony Launches PlayStation 5 Pro
JAKARTA - After four years ago launching the PS5, Sony announced its next step in evolution and welcomed the PlayStation 5 Pro, which will launch on November 7, 2024.
"We are developing the PS5 Pro by considering players and game creators who are very involved, because many want consoles that run graphics with higher fidelity with a smoother frame rate," said CEO, Platform Business Group, Interactive Entertainment, Hideaki Nishino in his announcement.
The PS5 Pro comes with GPUs that have 67 peraebs more Compute Units than the current PS5 console, and have 28 percent faster memory.
Overall, Sony said that this would allow up to 45 percent faster rendering to play games, making game play much smoother.
Furthermore, Sony also introduced the PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution, an AI-based upgrade that provides super sharp image clarity by adding some extraordinary details.
Other improvements include the PS5 Pro Game Boost, which can be applied to more than 8,500 PS4 games, so as to stabilize or improve the performance of supported PS4 and PS5 fims.

Enhanced Image Quality for PS4 games is also available to increase resolution in certain PS4 games. The PS5 Pro will also launch with the latest wireless technology, Wi-Fi 7, VRR and 8K games are also supported.
The PS5 Pro also fits perfectly with the PS5 product lineup and is compatible with the current PS5 accessories, including PlayStation VR2, PlayStation Portal, DualSense Edge, Access Controller, Pulse Elite, and Pulse Explore.
The PS5 Pro console will be available at retail prices suggested by producers (MSRP) of US$699.99 or around Rp. 10.8 million.
When sold, this console will be equipped with 2TB SSD, DualSense wireless controller, and a copy of Astro's Playroom already installed in each PS5 Pro purchase.
The PS5 Pro is available as a diskless console, with the option to purchase the Disc Drive for PS5 which is currently available separately.
