Very Strict Security, PSSI Assigns 5 Police Guards Shin Tae-yong
PSSI confirmed that it would provide strict guard to the players and coaches ahead of the Indonesian vs Australia national team on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at the Bung Karno Stadium. The Indonesian national team manager, Sumardji, said 30 security officers would be deployed.
Strict security was carried out following the incident of losing the Indonesian national team striker, Dimas Drajat, during training before departure to Saudi Arabia.
Security for the Garuda Squad has been carried out since the team returned from Saudi Arabia, from airports to hotels and training ground. Each player's movement is always accompanied by a security team.
The security team is from the National Police and PSSI. They took care of the entire team until the match was over against Australia.

"There are 20 people from the National Police from PSSI. There are 10 people. So, a total of 30 people," Sumardi said in a statement quoted on Monday, September 9, 2024.
Not only that, coach Shin Tae-yong will also be guarded by five security personnel. This was done to avoid unwanted things considering that the Indonesian national team is currently the center of attention.
In addition, PSSI does not want players to contract the virus like March 2024 where many players are sick due to interactions too closely with fans.
"The connection with security is that we don't want something to happen that we both don't want," said Sumardji, who is also the head of the National Team.
"According to the instructions of the General Chairperson of PSSI, children should be guarded because many of them do not wear masks and so on".
"So, we don't want it to be like before. With strict security, safety and safety, players and coaches are really maintained," he said.
Very strict security was also carried out at the hotel where the Indonesian national team was staying. Police in civilian clothes were deployed. According to Sumardji, hotels are even stricter because they are public areas that can be accessed by anyone.
"It's very strict. Therefore, at the hotel, the Police, who are not in uniform, joined friends from PSSI," said Sumardji again.
Meanwhile, Shin Tae-yong continued to finalize preparations ahead of Australia's opponents. The focus is on getting the players physically back and starting to apply tactical exercises.
The South Korean coach is eyeing full points at home to Australia. His team is in the best condition after picking up a point while visiting Saudi Arabia.
Things are different from Australia, which came with a minor capital. Socceroos lost against Bahrain in the first match.
