The Latest Model Jaguar Land Rover Assembled India Using Tata Platform, Special Asia?
JAKARTA - An Indian automotive company, Tata Motors, has confirmed that it will launch its newest platform next year and will be the platform base for the Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) brand model assembled in India.
This was confirmed by the CEO of Tata Group Naratajan Chandrasekaran. The 61-year-old said that this platform will support Tata-branded models for the upper class segment.
"You will benefit from both (Tata and JLR) in two different ways and the volume will increase, where the investment will be successful on one platform," Chandrasekaran was quoted as saying by Autocar, Monday, September 9.
It was also confirmed that the JLR's Tata and brand vehicles with this latest platform will be built in a new factory in India. The group also plans to export to other markets.
Chandrasasan also ensures that the model is not powered by pure electricity, considering that demand for fuel-engined cars is still high for markets with the largest population of countries in the world.
"We have bigger aspirations, both for JLR and Motorcycle Administration," added Chandrasekaran.

There is a potential that the car will be sold exclusively for the Asian market, with strong business considerations before exporting to areas where the JLR brand encourages the electrification segment.
However, both the Tata Group and JLR are still silent regarding the details of the future model that carries the platform.
Now, Jaguar Land Rover India owns a factory located in the Pune region, West India. Opened in 2011, this facility became an assembly ground for a number of models such as Jaguar XF, Range Rover Evoque, and Range Rover Velar.
The brand also plans to build its second factory in the country located in Tamil Nadu which cost up to USD 1 billion (IDR 15.4 trillion).
The strengthening of demand in Asia also made this brand revive the Freelander moniker consisting of plug-in hybrid and electric variants. It is reported that the model will be assembled at a factory owned by a joint venture company Chery-JLR in Changshu, China.
Last year, it was known that JLR's demand for cars continued to increase with the Chinese market contributing to the largest share by producing 104,123 sales units.
