Talent Floods, Samsung Announces Samsung Innovation Campus Batch 5 Winner
JAKARTA - Samsung announced that the Mechalvent team from MAN Insan Cendekia Tanah Laut, South Kalimantan managed to emerge as the first winner at the Samsung Innovation Campus (SIC) Batch 5, for the SMA, SMK, and MA categories.
In this competition, the Mechalvent team presented the idea of Bioner-S: Smart Biomass Energy solution, a prototype IoT-based smart power plant that uses biomass fuel from agriculture and is able to analyze the electricity generated using AI technology.
Furthermore, in second place was occupied by the G.O.A.T team from SMA Negeri 1 Malang, which came with the idea of Mripatmu's solution, a student presence monitoring system that utilizes face recognition, AI and IoT capabilities CCTV.
While the third rank is occupied by STI SMKN 2 PKU team 23 from SMKN 2 Pekanbaru with the idea of OCR Reading Drugs. This solution is intended to help people who have limited vision in reading labels, information, names, doses, side effects, and indications of use and indications of drugs using OCR (Optical Character Recognition) technology operated with ESPN 32 CAM and assisted with AI.
On the other hand, for the university category, Bina Nusantara University group 50 became the first winner with the idea of Daely's solution: AI and IoT based Development System for Drivers, which will monitor driver alertness rates using ESPN32 CAM and LCD I2C and provide warnings when conditions occur that are too risky.

In second place is Yogyakarta Utama Nahdlatul University group 37 with the idea of MotoRescue, this IoT and AI-based solution is aimed at detecting accidents and tracking vehicle lanes using the ESP32 microcontroller. This solution will automatically provide a warning to the nearest hospital in the event of an accident.
Then there is a team from the Christian University Duta Wacana and the State University of Yogyakarta Group 36 coming up with the idea of Smart Glasses solution, IoT-based smart glasses that will help blind people walk, who are in third place.
The winners of the SIC Batch 5 2023/2024 from the two categories will each get a prize in the form of Samsung products worth Rp55 million for the first place winner, Rp40 million for the second place, Rp25 million for the third place.
