Starting From Grid Nine, Marc Marquez Successfully Wins MotoGP San Marino
JAKARTA - Eight-time world champion Marc Marquez (Gresini Racing) again made a surprise and won the Grand Prix San Marino main race at the Misano Circuit, Italy, Sunday.
This is a positive trend for Marquez after previously capturing the highest podium in his home race, the Aragon Grand Prix in Spain.
Not only that, this result is also Marquez's first back-to-back victory after he last scored at the 2021 edition of the American Grand Prix and the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix.
Marquez is in front of the world champion twice as well as policesitterFrancesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo) and his team-mate, Enea Bastianini, who finished second and third respectively in the Ducati home race.
Bagnaia is 3.102 seconds adrift of Marquez who started the race from ninth. Meanwhile, Bastianini has a margin of 5.428 seconds from the race leader.
The San Marino Grand Prix begins with Bagnaia and its closest rival, Jorge Martin (Prima Pramac) has collided with each other to fight for the leading position.
On the other hand, Marquez struggled to improve his position and overtake several strong riders including Marco Bezzecchi (Pertamina Enduro VR46), to his younger brother and team-mate in Gresini Racing, Alex Marquez.

It didn't take long for Marquez to get to the top three, while Martin, who took the wrong strategy into account, was instead eliminated from 10 leading riders.
Marquez was able to seize the top position from Bagnaia and maintain his place in at least the last seven laps, until he finally claimed the title in front of two Ducati manufacturer riders.
Meanwhile, the results of this race made Martin still firm at the top of the standings this season, with Bagnaia in second place only 20 points adrift.
Marquez is in third place solidly, while Bastianini and Brad Binder (Red Bull KTM) fill the top five list.
