Emily Armstrong Has BEEN In A Song Writing Session With Linkin Park Since 2019
JAKARTA - The appointment of Emily Armstrong as Linkin Park's new vocalist, replacing the late Chester Bennington, was not a decision that was taken suddenly. The 38-year-old singer is known to have been working with Mike Shinoda cs since 2019.
Armstrong, who was the vocalist of Dead Sara, said he had had several sessions with Linkin Park five years ago.
"We started writing, actually, in 2019," Emily Armstrong said in a recent interview with Zane Lowe at Apple Music 1, citing Loudwire, Sunday, September 8.
We made some songs, and they all became question marks. It's great to come in and write a few things," he continued.
Unfortunately, the pandemic postponed Linkin Park's new project plan with Armstrong until finally Shinode contacted the vocalist again a few years later.
Armstrong admitted that he did not know what would happen at that time, until he was finally announced as the main vocalist of Linkin Park.
Armstrong's first appearance with Linkin Park in front of fans took place at a small show in Los Angeles, United States on September 5.
