Survei Politial Strategy Group: Pendukung Anies Baswedan Ogah Pilih RK Di Pilkada Jakarta
JAKARTA - The results of the Political Strategy Group (PSG) survey show that Anies Baswedan supporters are reluctant to elect Ridwan Kamil as a candidate for governor in the 2024 DKI Jakarta Regional Head Election (Pilkada).
PSG Researcher Chief Ahsan Ridhoi compared the results of support in the three-name electability questions, namely, Anies, Ahok, and Ridwan Kamil (RK), with two two questions, namely Anies vs RK and Ahok vs RK.
"The RK is acceptable to the majority of Ahok supporters and almost the majority of Anies supporters, but the majority of Anies voters will not choose RK," he explained as quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, September 7.
The survey was conducted on August 6-15, 2024 using the multistage random sampling method. The number of samples is 1,540 people.
Meanwhile, the margin of error is around 2.7 percent at a 95 percent confidence level.
The selected respondents were interviewed face-to-face by interviewers who had been trained.
This survey was conducted before the registration of a candidate for governor and deputy governor in the Jakarta Pilkada.
Ahsan explained, in this survey as many as 39 percent of respondents chose to support Anies Baswedan, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama alias Ahok 22 by 15 percent and Ridwan Kamil by 15 percent.
"This means that the residents of Jakarta basically tend to want their former governor to return to lead Jakarta," he said.
This also correlates with the level of community satisfaction with Anies and Ahok.
"So, the memories are sweet, I think with Mr. Anies, with Mr. Ahok. So they are more (selected) to come back, while Ridwan Kamil is only limited to 15 percent," he said.
According to him, Ridwan Kamil loyal voters are actually very small when faced with Anies and Ahok.
"Fans RK is about 20 percent of the Jakarta population," he said.
However, he realized, only RK officially registered as a candidate for governor to the Jakarta KPUD.
On the other hand, there is 58 percent of respondents are likely to choose RK, but it depends on the opponent.
Of the 58 percent, only 19 percent expressed their loyalty to RK and did not change support.
Meanwhile, 42 percent of respondents confirmed that they would not support RK whoever the opponent was.
"This means that there are many casting votes that can be explored," he said.

The Jakarta Pilkada Lasts Two Rounds
The PSG survey also revealed that the Jakarta Pilkada will take place in two rounds or it will be very difficult for just one round.
"The opportunity for one round is still thin. In Jakarta, there is still more than 50 percent of the number of valid votes to be elected governor, so there is a possibility of two rounds," said Ahsan.
He considered that RK should be able to attract Anies supporters and Ahok supporters, who may choose the PDI-P (Pramono Anung-Rano Karno) if they want to survive until the second round.
"It is small that RK may not get majority support in the first round," he said.
