WhatsApp Will Remove Electronic-Based Apps On Mac

JAKARTA - Currently, there are two WhatsApp applications that can be downloaded on Mac, namely the original WhatsApp from Meta which has been updated and refined as well as Electronic-based WhatsApp with poor performance.

In the near future, only one WhatsApp application can be used by Mac users, namely the application launched last year. Quoting from the WABetaInfo report, WhatsApp with the Electron framework will be removed in less than two months.

All users are asked to leave the old WhatsApp version and download the latest WhatsApp application on the App Store. If users don't want to download the WhatsApp application again, they can use the WhatsApp website and download the web application.

The closure of the Electronic-based WhatsApp application was announced via pop-up alerts within the application. The company explained that saved messages and contacts will remain visible in the latest WhatsApp application.

"This application won't be available in 54 days," WhatsApp said in the pop-up. "To keep using (applications) on this computer, change to a new app. You'll find all your messages and contacts there."

WhatsApp available on the App Store is made with Catalyst technology and uses the iPhone application as a database. This database runs natively on the Catalyst system. When compared to Electronics, the Catalyst app is much better.

Electronic-based applications are made based on a web application so that their performance is not so good. This application also has some limitations so WhatsApp will no longer maintain its application. If you want to switch to WhatsApp on the App Store, the Mac used must run macOS 11 or later.
