Teenager In Stockholm Shot By Schoolmate
JAKARTA - A teenager was shot in an attempted murder at a school in Stockholm. A suspect was arrested and the situation is under control.
The shooting took place on Wednesday, September 4 morning at a school in southern Stockholm, police said.
"One person has been shot and taken to hospital for treatment. The victim is conscious and can speak when we get there," a police spokesman told Reuters on Wednesday, September 4.
"We are not looking for additional perpetrators. We consider that we have controlled the situation at the school," the spokesman said.
The principal said the victim and suspect were students at the school and there appeared to be a personal conflict behind the attack.
"They had a conflict about a year ago, but it was resolved," said the principal, Kaj Majuri, at a press conference.
"Now there is a conflict that is getting out of control in a terrible way," he added.
Sweden has been filled with gang violence involving minors in the last decade and has the highest level of per capita gun violence in the European Union.
