Working Meeting With Commission III Of The DPR, Kemenkumham Does Not Propose Additional Budget For 2025
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) did not propose adding a budget ceiling for 2025 at a working meeting (raker) with Commission III of the DPR RI at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, today."The Ministry of Law and Human Rights did not submit additional proposals, the budget ceiling for 2025 of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights amounted to Rp. 21,203,053,318,000," said Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives Adies Kadir who chaired the meeting as reported by Antara, Wednesday, September 4.Minister of Law and Human Rights (Menkumham) Supratman Andi Agtas explained that initially the Ministry of Law and Human Rights proposed a budget ceiling for 2025 of IDR 26,961,166,715,000.Then, the indicative ceiling of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights in 2025 which was determined through a joint letter from the Minister of Finance and the Minister of National Development Planning/Bappenas amounted to Rp21,203,053,318,000."The Ministry of Law and Human Rights budget ceiling in 2025 is the same as the indicative ceiling in 2025," he said.He said the budget would be focused on four Kemenkumham programs, namely law enforcement and services (Rp5,281,082,638,000), regulatory formation (Rp53,677,076,000), promotion and enforcement of human rights (35,672,072,000), and management support (Rp15,832,621,532,000).The budget, he said, would also be allocated to support national priorities by 2025."“It was agreed that the national priority budget for the 2025 fiscal year supported by the Ministry of Law and Human Rights was Rp. 94,930 billion, with a total of 23 outputs, mandated to nine Echelon I,” units," he said.In the working meeting, he also explained a number of strategic activities. Among them, strategic activities from the Directorate General of Corrections at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights are handling overcrowding; updating of regulations after the 2022 Correctional Law; improving the quality of social guidance.Then, foster prisoners; change in organizational and governance as well as echelonization of State Confiscated Property Storage Houses (Rupbasan); implementation of quality child education; and rehabilitation of convict narcotics.
Regarding the 2025 budget ceiling of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, Commission III of the DPR RI will convey the results of the 2025 budget discussion meeting to the DPR RI Budget Agency (Banggar) for synchronization in accordance with the mechanisms and laws and regulations.
