PLTU Sambelia FTP 2 Ready To Increase Electricity Reliability In NTB
JAKARTA - Manager of PT PLN (Persero) Nusra 1 Project Implementing Unit (UPP) Deddy Kurniawan stated that the Sambelia Fast Track Program (FTP) 2 Steam Power Plant (MFT) with a capacity of 100 megawatts (MW) is ready to help increase electricity reliability in the West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) region.
Deddy Kurniawan, through a press release, Tuesday, September 3, conveyed this after learning that the construction of the PLTU in Padak Guar Village, East Lombok Regency as a result of a collaboration with PT Rekayasa Industri had completed the first screening stage or a trial of the first burning process in the PLTU deliberator using high speed diesel (HSD) or diesel fuel.
This combustion process, he said, is a crucial stage in starting the operation of a PLTU. Because the first time the trial will produce steam on the volatile for the first time, then it is used in the process of cleaning the steam pipeline before finally entering the turbine.
In fact, before entering the first screening stage, officers are required to first conduct testing of supporting equipment such as cooling systems, fan systems, fuel oil systems, and instrument systems.
"So, the completion of the first screening stage is a milestone in the next commissioning process for the Sambelia PLTU system, namely cool filtering and synchronization with the electricity system," he said, quoted from Antara.
The first phase of the PLTU operational forgiveness will take place on August 30, 2024. Although there is still a further stage, he emphasized that the PLTU that has absorbed more than 1,000 workers can serve the electricity needs of the community, and strengthen the Lombok electricity system, especially in supporting tourism activities in NTB.
"Therefore, this PLTU will become a provider of high-efficiency electrical energy with strict environmental standards. This plant also plays an important role in supporting regional economic growth," he said again.
General Manager of PT PLN (Persero) Nusa Tenggara Development Main Unit (UIP Nusra) Abdul Nahwan explained that the Sambelia PLTU is part of the FTP 35,000 MW program.
This is in accordance with the government's target to encourage investment in Lombok Island, NTB, such as the Mandalika Special Economic Zone (SEZ) as a super priority tourism destination for tourism development and international-class events.
"With a total capacity of 100 MW, PLTU Sambelia has the potential for an annual electricity production target of 735,233 gigaWattHour (GWH) with a peak hour of 153,172 GWH and a peak hour of 582,052 GWH," said Abdul Nahwan.

He added that if the Sambelia PLTU has gone through a whole series of milestones and is fully operational, then the available electricity supply can meet the needs of the people of NTB.
According to him, this commitment will have a sustainable impact on all PLN stakeholders today and for future generations for a more advanced Indonesia.
"Thus, the regional economy can accelerate and ultimately be able to improve the welfare of the community," he also said.
