The Commander In Chief Proposes An Increase In Tukin For The Welfare Of TNI Soldiers
TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto proposed an increase in performance allowances (tukin) for the welfare of TNI soldiers during a Working and Budget Meeting with Commission I of the DPR.
Currently, according to him, the TNI soldiers' tukin for the main level is 70 percent of the salary. He also proposed that the tukin increase to 80 percent so that the salary received or take home pay could increase.
"We propose to increase to 80 percent, so that later there will be an increase, which means approximately Rp. 500 thousand," Agus said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, September 3.
He explained that the soldier's salary for the mainstay is currently Rp. 3-4 million. So with an increase of 70 percent of the tukin, the total salary earned can reach around Rp. 6.7 million.
During the meeting, the TNI Commander admitted that he had been asked by members of Commission I of the DPR regarding the condition of soldiers' salaries. According to him, TNI soldiers live mediocre with such salary conditions.
"So that we are indeed trying to increase the Tukin for the welfare of soldiers," he said.
