Microsoft Calls Option Remove Recall In Windows 11 Only Bugs
JAKARTA Not long ago, it was revealed that the recall feature in Windows 11 of the latest version of 24H2, namely KB5041865, got the option to delete it. However, Microsoft said that the option to delete Recall was only an error.
Windows Senior Product Manager Brandon LeBlanc told The Verge that Microsoft never added the feature on purpose. The option to remove Recall that looks like a bug to be removed by the company.
"We are aware of the problem where the Recall is mistakenly listed as an option under the 'Active or disable Windows feature' dialogue at the Control Panel," LeBlanc said. "This will be fixed in the upcoming update."
Through this statement, Microsoft clearly shows that they have no intention of adding the option to remove or disable Recall from Windows 11-based devices. The company is also still optimistic about launching Recall in October.
The recall feature was controversial because it was claimed to be unsafe by the researchers. According to the findings of security researchers, the Recall database that stores computer snapshots every few seconds is not encrypted so the safety level is very low.

If this feature does not have encryption, cybercriminals can easily infiltrate malware. With the emergence of these findings, Microsoft canceled launching Recall on PC Copilot Plus last June and delayed its launch to make major improvements.
Especially for the European Union, Microsoft will definitely add an option to remove the recall installation due to the Digital Market Act (DMA) rules. Microsoft has done the same to Edge in the European Economic Area (EEA) area.
