Paralympic Standings 2024: Indonesia 8 Medals, Already Over Target
JAKARTA Indonesia has now collected eight medals at the Paris 2024 Paralympics. That number has exceeded the target.
This achievement made the Red and White Contingent occupy the 28th position in the standings. As of 17.13 WIB, Indonesia was recorded to have received one gold medal, four silver medals, and three bronze medals.
The only gold medal was contributed by the mixed doubles pair Leani Ratri Oktila/Hikmat Ramdani from the badminton sport.
Ratri/Hikmat occupied the highest podium after in the final of the SL3-SU5 classification match they defeated their compatriot pair, Fredy Setiawan/Khalimatus Sadiyah, in the two straight games 21-16 and 21-15.

Apart from Fredy/Khalimatus, three other silver medals were secured by runner Saptoyogo Purnomo from 100 meters T37 men, Muhammad Bintang Satria Herlangga from the BC2 men's individual boccia, and Qonitah Ikhtiar Syakuroh from women's singles badminton classification SL3.
The three bronze medals that Indonesia secured, two of which came from Boccia and one from badminton.
Gischa Zayana got two medals from Boccia each from the women's individual BC2 and M. Afrizal Syafa boccia individual BC1 men. Meanwhile, Subhan/Rina Marlina got one bronze from SH6 mixed doubles badminton.
The number of medals obtained by Indonesia currently exceeds the target conveyed by Chef De Mission (CdM), Reda Manthovanani, to the Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora), Dito Ariotedjo, on August 15, 2024.
At that time, Reda said that the Indonesian contingent was targeting to bring home one gold medal, two silver medals, and three bronze medals from the 2024 Paralympics.
"We believe this target can be achieved with the efforts and careful and serious preparations that have been carried out by all sportsmen, officials, and all related parties," said Reda.
Indonesia has sent a total of 35 athletes from 10 sports to the 2024 Paralympics. This number has increased significantly compared to the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics which sent 23 athletes from seven sports.
