PLN Deploys 496 Personnel To Maintain Electricity During Pope Francis And ISF 2024 Visits

PT PLN (Persero) through the Greater Jakarta Distribution Main Unit (UID) held an electricity alert rally welcoming the state visits of Pope Francis and International Sustainability Forum (ISF) 2024 on September 3 to 6 in Jakarta.

General Manager of PLN UID Jakarta Raya, Lasiran, said that PLN has prepared a layered supply security scheme to maintain supply reliability.

PLN formed 4 standby posts and deployed a total of 496 personnel with 5 detection cars. In addition, PLN provides 33 units of Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) with a total power of 10,970 kilo volt amperes (kVA), 7 Mobile Cable Units (UKB), 10 Mobile Substation Units (UGB) with a total power of 7,980 kVA, and 22 generator units with a total power of 26,685 kVA.

"With a capable capacity of 8,919 Megawatt (MW) and a peak load of 5,882 MW, PLN has a power reserve of 3,037 MW or 34.05 percent during the standby period," said Lasiran, quoted Monday, September 2.

With this thorough preparation, PLN is optimistic that it can provide reliable and quality electricity supply to support the smooth visit of Pope Francis in Jakarta and ISF 2024.

In addition to ensuring the reliability of electricity supply, PLN has also prepared Public Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (SPKLU) to meet the needs of 58 delegates' electric vehicles and 5 operational electric buses during the event.

"Especially for serving delegation and operational electric vehicles, there are 40 special personnel who will oversee the reliability of the SPKLU," concluded Lasiran.
