JAKARTA - The Mayor of Medan, Muhammad Bobby Afif Nasution officially launched the Kesawan City Walk to realize "The Kitchen of Asia" right in front of Tjong A Fie's house, Jalan Ahmad Yani, Medan, Sunday.

"In total, there are about 113 booths, but 108 culinary stands among them, we allow this to be opened", said President Joko Widodo's son-in-law, quoted from Antara, Monday, March 29.
Mayor Bobby continued, the Medan City Government wants every special culinary from a certain ethnicity in the capital city of North Sumatra province to be displayed in Kesawan from evening until night.
The launch is one of the efforts of the Medan City Government to make ethnicity and culture rise, especially in the culinary field.
Including, how to make typical food, raw materials until it is on a plate, and served to tourists and the local community to be enjoyed.
"Not only suddenly, but it can also be on the table. For example, on table IDR 15 per plate is added 'history', how to make it, and whoever used to be allowed to eat this special food", explained the Mayor.
"We have to build with this old city area because the city of Medan does not have the potential for nature tourism", explained Mayor Bobby.
