Cornered with Bully Narrative, Undip Rector Open to Investigation from the Start

JAKARTA - Diponegoro University is facing a framing that comes from the Directorate General of Health Services/Dirjen Yankes Kemenkes, and netizens due to the death of PPDS student FK Undip, dr. Risma Aulia Lestari (30). Rector of Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, SE, MSI explained that Undip is actually in a position that is not on self-defense.

On the contrary, Prof. Dr. Suharnomo is very open to revealing what really happened, so that the problem with the death of PPDS FK student Undip becomes clear.

"PPDS students or residents who are in Kariadi Hospital are experiencing a very, very tired, or exhausted. But the 24 hour daily operation policy at Kariadi Hospital was signed by the Director of Kariadi Hospital, not by Undip," he said at the Higher Education Governance Workshop for Foundation Management and Lecturers at the USM Auditorium in Pedurungan, Semarang, Friday, August 30.

Even since the first day of the death of dr. Risma Aulia Lestari (30) is known, Undip immediately moved quickly to involve law enforcement, in this case the Police to uncover this case. But there are other parties who immediately conclude and throw baseless accusations against FK Undip as his scapegoat.

"On the first day (after the death of PPDS Undip participants at the Kariadi Hospital) from Yankes (Dirjen Yankes) said, allegations of bullying resulted in death. From Yankes who brewed, even though the (region) should have been from the Police. Yes, he (Dirjen Yankes) just brewed. Even though this is like a husband-wife. 100 percent of students (FK Undip) co-ass (programs of professions that must be carried out by medical major students to get a doctor's degree held in the hospital for a period of 1.5 years to 2 years) at the Kariadi Hospital. There is no problem at the Diponegoro Hospital. In all the unit hospitals there is no problem. There (RS Kariadi) there is (problem), because of what? Because 24 hours there is an operation (at Kariadi Hospital). There is a SK Director (RS Kariadi), it is not Undip. Because 95 percent more are in Kariadi Hospital, we (Undip) five percent are not there. They are very exhausted, exhausted operations, "explained Rector.

Prof. Dr. Suharnomo explained, in reality on the ground, an operation can take a long time, because the condition of the field wants that. The derivative of specialist doctor and resident working hours also increased by itself.

"It's like an operation that should be an hour, sometimes because it's fading, it's six hours. It usually happens, and surgery (must) again. And there is a Decree of the Managing Director of the Kariadi Hospital, 24 hours of operation, so the name of the resident is really tired. But the title is bullying, (but) we are the ones who know PPDS Undip. After that on the Undip page all of it is all finished, please, don't hide it. The Chancellor added that he was confused, because so far he had never hidden anything to the public, especially to law enforcement officials.

He then submitted data, in 2022 one PPDS student was fired because he was proven to have bullied, and in 2023 there were two people who were fired.

"We really want zero bullying. But we also don't want people to die, not because of bullying, you know what makes it difficult for us. It has to be bullying, what about it. The second day (after the incident the PPDS student was found dead) from the Ministry of Health, from the Ministry of Research and Technology and the Police has arrived and we are open. Just take the reverse, please ask, and we are not defensive," he further said.

But unfortunately, all statements from Undip, according to Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, are always considered as self-defense, even though what actually happened was the opposite, Undip wanted to be open to this incident. Therefore, Undip thought there was a hidden agenda behind the framing that put Undip in the wrong position.

"But the problem is that netizens are framing and have to bully. We want to say anything, keep bullying. Leave the person. Who wants to be handed over. Please let the Police decide it's because of bullying or not. That's the problem, friends. Indeed, there are many agendas. There is an agenda for hospitality based education, which is opposed by campuses, and so on," concluded the Chancellor.
