Shin Tae-yong Reveals The Condition Of The Indonesian National Team Ahead Of The Opponents Of Saudi Arabia In The 2026 Pildun Qualification

JAKARTA - The coach of the Indonesian national team, Shin Tae-yong, revealed the current condition of his players ahead of the match against Saudi Arabia. The coach said all conditions were safe without problems.

The Indonesian national team will meet with Saudi Arabia in the third round of the 2026 World Cup Qualification (Pildun), the match will be held in Saudi Arabia on September 5 local time.

Ahead of that match, the team held the last exercise on Saturday, August 31. On that occasion there were 11 players who joined and one person was absent. From a training session, the coach made sure all the players were in top condition.

However, the prime coach said it was not enough. Against World Cup subscription teams, such as Saudi Arabia and Australia, more work is needed for maximum results.

"Indeed, preparations must be good. Moreover, this is the first time we have to go round three, meaning we have to be more focused, work even harder. Of course from the players himself he will do his best," said Shin Tae-yong in a statement while leading the exercise quoted on Sunday, September 1.

After undergoing the last training session, the Indonesian national team player is scheduled to leave for Jeddah on Sunday, September 1 afternoon. On the agenda, Shin Tae-yong explained that 14 abroad players would follow and join directly in Jeddah on Sunday or Monday.

Abroad players immediately gather to Jeddah. Some are on the 1st (September) some are on the 2nd (September)", explained the coach.

Despite going through different travel schedules, Shin Tae-yong hopes that all the players will have gathered in Arabia on September 3. At least with two days before the match, Shin can design a strategy against Saudi Arabia in the short remaining time.

"Obviously the target against them (Saudi Arabia) gets good results. I will try my best, because I am not God," said Shin casually.

"So I can't know (what the results will be). The ball is round. The situation can change, no one knows either, we will only try our best," he said.
