Korean Open 2024 Results: Leo/Bagas Win The Title After Overthrowing The Vice Host
JAKARTA - Indonesian men's doubles badminton player, Leo Carnando/Bagas Maulana won the title at the Korea Open 2024.
Facing the hosts, Leo/Bagas confirmed victory after dueling in three fierce games.
Appearing at the Mokpo Indoor Stadium on Sunday, September 1 at noon WIB, Leo/Bagas did not win easily. Because in the first game Leo/Bagas was left behind by Kang Min-hyuk/Seo Seung Jae.
Faced with Kang/Seo who is the host's representative and became the top seed, Leo/Bagas had appeared promising at the beginning after winning 7-4.
However, Kang/Seo were able to equalize the score 9-9 before turning 10-9 ahead.
Kang/Seo won four points in a row after the interval to lead 14-10.
Leo/Bagas hit back by winning the next three points before balancing the game 15-15.
After a draw, Kang/Seo actually won three main points to beat Leo/Bagas 18-15. The game point was achieved by Kang/Seo in 20-17 position which was perfected through Kang's smash which made them successfully secure the first game 21-18.
In the second game, Leo/Bagas responded with a strong start. The Indonesian representative led 6-1 over Kang/Seo and continued to shoot up to 11-5 at the interval.
After that Leo/Bagas were unable to be blocked by Kang/Seo. The Indonesian representative easily added point by point before winning the second game with a landslide score of 21-9, as well as forcing the rubber game.

During the deciding round, Leo/Bagas continued their momentum by beating Kang/Seo 6-1 at the beginning of the third game.
Leo/Bagas then shot up after picking up nine points in a row so that they led 15-2.
The match was more comfortable for Leo/Bagas at 18-4.
Leo/Bagas got the match point after the opponent failed to return the 20-7 service and a strike from Bagas above the net sealed a 21-8 victory and the 2024 Korea Open title for the Indonesian men's doubles.
