Russian Drone Attack Kills One Person, 8 Others Injured

JAKARTA - A Russian attack damaged a factory in the city of Sumy in northeastern Ukraine, killing a 48-year-old woman and injuring eight people.

The Russian attack caused a fire until authorities asked residents to stay indoors.

Ukraine's Attorney General's Office said the plant manufactures packaging for baby food, juice, and household products.

A drone strike hit an industrial facility in the central Ukraine Poltava without causing any casualties, regional governor Filip Pronin said.

As reported by Reuters on Friday, August 30, the Ukrainian air force said it shot down 12 of the 18 drones launched by Russia overnight over five Ukrainian territories. Four more drones crashed over Ukrainian territory. Russia also used the Iskander-M missile during the attack.
