Cathedral Church Bomb, National Police Chief Listyo And Densus 88 Team Fly To Makassar

JAKARTA - National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, appealed to all people not to panic and be provoked after the suicide bombing at the Makassar Cathedral Church. The National Police guarantees the safety of the public and places of worship.

"People don't have to panic too much, we are investigating the perpetrators," Listyo said in his statement, Sunday, March 28.

Sigit said the National Police's Counterterrorism Special Detachment 88 (Densus 88) would continue to take action against terrorist groups. Therefore, he said, people do not need to be anxious and worried. He said the country would not tolerate any terror attacks.

Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police, Inspector General Argo Yuwono, said that the Chief of Police immediately ordered the Head of Special Detachment 88 to Makassar to investigate this terror act. He will coordinate with the local police to investigate the perpetrators of this terrorism.

"Regarding this activity of terrorism or not of course the Chief of Police ordered that this afternoon the Head of Special Detachment 88 departed for Makassar with the team. There we combed any small object, we carried out the crime scene," said Head of Public Relations of the National Police, Insp. Gen. Argo Yuwono.

On the other hand, Argo ensured that the National Police guaranteed the safety of the momentum of the commemoration of the death of Isa Almasih which fell on April 2, 2021, and the Easter celebration on April 4, 2021.

"Of course there is a routine operation that we will improve from the National Police Assistant to provide guidance to the region, especially regarding the activities of the death of God and this Easter activity is part of the security that we do, we simultaneously invite all elements of society to participate in safeguarding social security," said Argo.
