Film Actors And Directors In South India Are Investigated For Sexual Crime Cases
JAKARTA - A number of prominent film actors and directors have focused on police investigations into cases of sexual crimes in the southern Indian state of Kerala.
The allegation of the case came at a time when doctors in many parts of the country protested the rape and murder of an intern in the eastern city of Kolkata, which caused a junior doctor strike at several hospitals and anger on social media.
"We have so far received 16 complaints from women in the film industry. We are examining all complaints and taking further action," said Kumar, who leads a seven-member special police team investigating the case.
