Bekasi Shooting Athletes Contribute Medals At The 2021 ISSF World Cup
JAKARTA - Indonesia has made another achievement in the international arena. Shooting athlete from Bekasi Regency, West Java, Vidya Rafika Rahmatan Toyyiba (19) won a bronze medal in the world shooting championship held in India.
The General Chairperson of the Indonesian Shooting and Hunting Association (Perbakin) of Bekasi Regency, Batong Sulaeman said that the fostered athlete had again succeeded in making optimal results when he appeared in the 2021 ISSF World Cup in New Delhi, India, on March 15-26, 2021.
"Alhamdulillah, Vika, who is also our top shooting athlete, was able to present bronze for Indonesia," he said in Cikarang, Sunday.
Batong said Vika, Vidya Rafika's nickname, is one of the athletes who is currently undergoing a national training camp for shooting to be prepared for the 2021 Tokyo Olympics.
The Tokyo Olympics ticket, he said, was obtained by Vika when he participated in the Asian shooting championship in Qatar 2019. After that impressive result, she has achieved a series of achievements, including two gold medals at the 2019 SEA Games in Manila, Philippines.
"The world championship that Vika has just participated in is one of the trials in preparation for the 2021 Tokyo Olympics. Apart from Vika, the Indonesian Shooting and Hunting Association (Perbakin) also sent several other shooters. Vika became one of the best, winning the ISSF medal," he said.

Batong said that apart from Vika, other shooting athletes from Bekasi Regency also managed to achieve maximum results in the shooting championship. Two of the shooters, Lana and Dominique, managed to make achievements by winning the 2021 National Championship tournament which was held virtually on Wednesday (24/3/2021).
Both of them managed to excel from the participants from other regional contingents at the 10 meter Air Rifle Women Youth.
"We appreciate all our athletes who excel at every championship both at the national and international levels. For us, the achievements obtained are the result of hard work by the management who have succeeded in making Bekasi Regency proud," he said.
