Erick Thohir's Message To The BUMN Foundation: Help Overcome Stunting Problems
JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir pays attention to the problem of stunting in the country.
Therefore, he asked the BUMN Foundation to help the government resolve the problem.
Based on the data he got, Erick said that in 2020, as many as 149 million children in the world experienced stunting, and 6.3 million of them were Indonesian children.
"The impact of stunting will be carried by these children for life. Therefore, in order to produce a better generation and reach Indonesia Gold 2045, this stunting problem needs special attention," he said in an official statement, Thursday, August 29.
According to Erick, this can be done by making an integrated service center (posyandu) a place for children to grow and develop to overcome the health issues of mothers and children, especially the problem of stunting.
"I believe that stunting can be carried out effectively by optimizing the role of posyandu and other supporting systems," he said.
As a concrete step, Erick went directly to one of the posyandus in the RW 03 Pegangsaan Dua area, North Jakarta.
He also asked the BUMN Foundation to immediately make the Growing Room' program a leading program (quick win).

Erick also asked the BUMN Foundation to invite nutritionists, parenting, children's growth and development, spatial planning, as well as nutrition training and monitoring facilitators to collaborate in formulating the right program and can be implemented in various regions in Indonesia.
"With a holistic approach, posyandu can function as a center for children's growth and development, parents, and posyandu cadres," he said.
He said that through the Growing Space program, the BUMN Foundation is trying to create a better future for Indonesian children.
"The BUMN Foundation is committed to participating in optimizing the function and role of posyandu as a center for children's growth and development," added Erick.
For your information, through the 'Growing Room' pilot program in areas in Jakarta, namely the Kelapa Gading and South Gandaria areas, with a design that is adjusted to the direction of the Minister of SOEs.
This program involves various collaborators, including the Parentalk, Sahabat Gizi, Jak Sehat, Edukazi, Pulpa 1000 Days Funds, and is supported by the Temasek Foundation, Mind.id, and Arummi.
The 'Growing Room' program is believed to be a model in handling stunting in a holistic and collaborative manner, as well as being an inspiration for similar initiatives in various regions in Indonesia.
