Bank Indonesia Facilitates Three Strategic Investment Projects In The US Business Forum

JAKARTA - Bank Indonesia (BI) facilitates the presence of three strategic investment projects, out of a total of seven investment projects promoted by the Indonesian Business Forum in the United States (US).

"The selection of these three projects is based on the results of BI's curation with the New York Indonesia Investment Promotion Center (IIPC) to be offered to investors in the US, taking into account investors' interest in the project sector," said BI Deputy Governor Filianingsih Hendarta in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Wednesday, August 28.

These projects include the Geothermal Project of Geothermal Power Plant (Geothermal) at Umbul Temple Telomoyo, Central Java, which utilizes geothermal heat as an alternative energy source; and the Copper Processing Industry in East Java, which supports the industrial downstream policy to increase the added value of copper in Indonesia.

Then, there is a project in the form of the Aceh Industrial Estate (KIA) Ladong, which is targeted to become an industrial center and halal downstreaming in Aceh, with a focus on food, beverage, and other products.

At the forum, Filianingsih conveyed five reasons to invest in Indonesia, namely strong economic growth with positive prospects; and stable macroeconomic fundamentals.

The next reason also includes the Government's strong commitment to structural reforms to create a conducive investment climate; as well as accelerate economic and financial digitization; as well as inclusive and sustainable economic development.

These efforts show BI's commitment to supporting joint efforts by related ministries and institutions to attract foreign capital flows through investment in the real sector.

This commitment is realized through synergy with the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Indonesian Ministry of Investment or the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) in Washington DC, and the US-ASEAN Business Council in organizing the Indonesia Business Forum in Washington DC, United States on August 26, 2024.

The business forum confirms the strong diplomatic relations between Indonesia and the US that have existed for 75 years, especially after the two countries agreed to increase their partnership status to Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP). The Forum is expected to strengthen cooperation to increase US investment in Indonesia.
