Mahfud MD: Rizieq's Discretion From Airport To Petamburan, No Tomorrow
JAKARTA - The Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menko Polhukam) Mahfud MD emphasized that the government's discretion was not about crowds after M. Rizieq Shihab (MRS) 's return to Indonesia.
Mahfud said Rizieq's pickup at Soekarno-Hatta Airport on November 10, 2020 was still included in the government's discretion.
"The government's discretion is that MRS can go home and be picked up; obey health protocols; escorted by the police to his residence. So, the crowd after being escorted to Petamburan is no longer a government discretion, but a violation of the law," said Mahfud in response to the defendant Rizieq Shihab's statement that the crowd occurred. at Soekarno-Hatta Airport (Soetta) on his return to Indonesia, it was reported by Antara, Saturday, March 27.
Mahfud emphasized that his party gave discretion only when he returned from the airport to his home.
From the video, he said, it was clear that at that time MRS was officially permitted and escorted as a government discretion via Polhukam to Petamburan.
"Invitations from the crowd after being escorted to Petamburan which occurred at night, the next day, and in other places are certainly not the government's discretion," said Mahfud.
He also denied being a crowd actor in Petamburan.
"So the alibi is wrong to say that the pick-up and crowd at the airport is the fault of the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs for giving permission to go home and pick up. Pick-up and delivery are discretionary in administrative law, not criminal law. So the criminal charge is the crowd that was mobilized after that," said Mahfud. explain.
It is known, after arriving in Indonesia, Rizieq held an invitation to his daughter's wedding in Petamburan. Rizieq also held an event for the Prophet's birthday which was attended by thousands of people.
