JAKARTA - Developers Techland have announced that it will remove Ultimate Edition and Upgrade to Ultimate Edition for Dying Light 2 Stay Human from all platforms on September 30.

However, the studio insists that players who already have Ultimate Edition or Upgrade to Ultimate Edition before their deletion date will not be affected. Thus, everything in the game will be playable as usual.

"We will remove Ultimate Edition and Upgrade to Ultimate Edition for Dying Light 2 Stay Human from all platforms on September 30. Please pay attention: players who already have Ultimate Edition or Upgrade to Ultimate Edition will not be affected," wrote the developer on X.

The game was announced at Gamescom Opening Night Live, and will feature the first protagonist Playing Light, Kyle Crane. Furthermore, the developer has also stated that Dying Light: The Beast has already started its development as DLC for Dying Light 2, and will be released as a standalone title.

In a separate post, the developer explains that the expanded nature of the upcoming self-reliance title is part of why the Dying Light 2 Ultimate Edition was removed from sales.

"We will honor our promise to our longtime supporters and give Dying Light: The Beast to current Ultimate owners at no additional cost but because of the increasing scope, we will stop selling them in the future."

Currently, Dying Light: The Beast is in the development stage for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and also PC. Release dates will be announced later this year.
