Polda Metro Asks Residents To Report About Allegations Of West Jakarta Police Withdraw Ransom To Release Demonstrators
Members of the West Jakarta Metro Police are said to have asked for a sum of money as a ransom so that one of the mass demonstrations against the Revision of the Regional Head Election (Pilkada) which was detained could be released.
Responding to this, Polda Metro Jaya asked those who felt aggrieved regarding the allegation to immediately report officially.
"If anyone feels aggrieved by the actions of an individual member of the Polda Metro Jaya, please make a report," said Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Ade Ary Syam Indadi to reporters Friday, August 23.
Based on the report, the alleged extortion carried out by the police could be investigated far away.
Ade also said that people who feel they are victims of criminal acts committed by members of the police can report through the SPKT Polda Metro Jaya.
Meanwhile, alleged violations such as arbitrariness can be reported through Propam.
"If the alleged criminal act can go to SPKT at Polda Metro Haya. If there are allegations of budgeting a code of ethics, arbitrariness can also be reported to the Propam route," said Ade.

Previously, the Indonesian LBH Foundation through the Instagram account @YLBHI uploaded a statement that looked up to the public. In his upload, YLBHI mentioned that one mass action was detained at the West Jakarta Metro Police who was asked for a ransom.
"The latest update. One mass of action detained at the West Jakarta Police was asked for a ransom of 3 million rupiah by the security forces. Crazy!," he wrote in the @YLBHI account quoted by VOI, Friday, August 23.
